Polycarbonate blasting media

Polycarbonate blasting media for cryogenic deburring of rubber & silicone components

Our Polycarbonate blasting media

Produced from new raw material. We attach great importance to an exact cubic or cylindrical cut. Our Polycarbonate blasting media have a long life time due to their consistently high quality, they are abrasion-resistant and impact-resistant. Dust formation during the blasting process can thus be minimized. Due to the high elasticity of our polycarbonate blasting media, your components are cleanly deburred, but not damaged or matted. There will be no colour transfer from the blasting media to your parts.

Our polycarbonate blasting media is free of bisphenol and can therefore also be used for medical technology products.

Cryogenic deburring:

Elastic parts such as rubber, silicones etc. can only be deburred mechanically at low temperatures under embrittled condition. For this reason, high demands are also placed on the blasting media.
It must withstand temperatures as low as -190 degrees to avoid blasting media breakage, and it must not be too hard to protect your parts from being damaged in the embrittled condition. Our polycarbonate blasting media meets these requirements.

Cubic cut

Due to the cubic shape of the polycarbonate blasting media, it has 27% more mass and thus a higher weight as well as a higher kinetic energy. This fine difference can provide a better result depending on the application, e. g. faster deburring or lower consumption.

Static

Our polycarbonate blasting media are already wetted with antistatic agent, so that they can be used directly. Unfortunately, wetting must be repeated from time to time.

Comparison of blasting media

We do not recommend comparing polycarbonate blasting media in a short test, as the long-term behaviour is very important for a final evaluation. Some polycarbonate blasting medias work well up to a certain point in time. Then they disintegrate very suddenly and the abrasive has to be replaced.

We will be happy to advise you or provide you with a sample quantity.
